hello, i tryed looking this up but just want to be sure.
i have a custom pc from this year running windows XP PRO and only 1 space for the vidio card so i will need to buy 1 first if XP PRO will be able to do this, i could only find reference for media, so can i still use the cord that has the right ends? Then plugging the computer into my tv which has the 3 holes for RCA jacks on the back.
Thanks for any feed back
1: what is your current graphics card?
2: Which card are you planning to get?
3: Have you checked that your motherboard has the right connector for your new card?
4: Is your psu powerfull enough to power the new card?
5: You are aware that you will have to do a repare install of xp after the new card is inserted?
I kno theres a lot there, but I got the impression that you hadn't thought it through totally.
BEN.
thanks ben, i was hoping maybe somebody new which vidio card would work the best, but heres what i have in my computer, intele r core tm 2 duo CUP E4600@ 2.40GHz 1.98 GB ram
if i do get a vidio card? thought i could just put it in one of the slots inside the computer?
going along with this topic, can you do this with your stereo and tv through some type of wireless device?
www.x10.com has audio and video streaming wireless devices, Sony also has their digital media port products, wireless and blue tooth, there's also other stuff out there. I can't vouch for any of these products as I haven't tried them but there's quite a few things around.
Philips streamium is one thing, basically just do a search for wireless streaming music pc on Google and you'll be flooded with ideas.
Good luck

I will tell you which card to get once you've answered my questions.
Your computer will have a pci express slot which is the standard slot these days for graphics cards so any pci express card *should* be fine. However as I said, there are other issues such as power requirements and fixing xp after you've installed the card.
BEN.
ok ben, sorry if i got this wrong,
but the power is,
Pcdap_D0_ + pdcap_dd3_ both supported currently running d0
and vidio card is? not sure about this.
On2 VB6 6.4.2 vidio codec, hope this is what you were asking for.
thanks Bryan

I was actually after the whattage of your psu but nvm.
Due to me not knowing about your psu and you probably not using this card for gaming, i'm going to reckamend the radeon 2400 by ati.
This card will come with a tv out port on the back of it and probably acable. This will handle the video out to your tv.
There is a slight chance that if you remove the previous card drivers, shutdown and install the new card that xp may work, however, it is the norm for xp to reboot in a loop after a new graphics card is installed; the fix is to do a repare install which I have never scene done unattendedly.
I'm assuming that you'll be fine fitting the card, just make sure you've got the repare install sorted.
